Composers

The composers are a group of machines not maintained by ECE/CIS. They offer email to everybody at the university and also support for classes. They are headed by the two machines named strauss.udel.edu and copland.udel.edu. The main UDel web page, http://www.udel.edu, is also maintained by the central systems and should be used to find info about the Composers. Info about activating your central account can be found at the UD Help Page.

Any problems with any central system services can be handled with the IT Help Center Help Request Form.

Mail, forwarding

Everyone at the University has an email address of the form username@udel.edu. These are maintained by the central systems. If you want to forward mail from your central UDel composer account to one of your ECE/CIS accounts see this and use your ECE/CIS email address as the address to forward to.

Class mailing lists

PoBox - www.udel.edu/pobox should be used to email class or other University groups.

General mailing lists

Mail lists should be created on the Central Campus Mailman Server (faculty and staff only). More information about the different types of mailing lists, how to use them, and how to request them can be found at the Central Campus Mailing List page.

Modems, dialups and PPP
